The Department is carrying the research work to train specialist. As a source of financing is a government budget.

The main directions of scientific research of the Department are:

- research of transportation systems of the big cities;

- research and process development of the improvement of the road safety;

- environmental problems of the functioning of road transport and transportation sector:

- improvement of theory, methods of analysis and construction of the shaft rail-tracked and automobile indusrtial transport.

In 2010 at the Deparment of Transportation Management has been completed research work M-365 “Scientific basis of operations of logistic systems of public passenger transport” with the sponsorship of 20000 UAH (source of financing – government budget).
